Donna Hutchens and Bonny Hicks founded Accounting by Design, Inc in 2005. Lifelong friends, both women discovered they also shared a passion for numbers and business and opened their firm. Starting with one client, the firm has grown to service over 100 clients including churches, nonprofit entities, construction firms, corporate and personal tax returns. After much hard work, the business expanded and brought on Mollie Crowe in 2018.

Donna, Bonny, and Mollie take great pride helping their clients achieve their business and accounting goals. As a team, the women have grown to appreciate their strengths and they feel that this allows them to provide better service to their clients. Indeed, they view their clients as family and this personal viewpoint is a service that the clients often notice.

DONNA

Donna:

Donna began her career as an Optician. Her job involved frame styling, data verification and management of large inventories and accounts. Optical standards are exacting, and this taught her to appreciate the importance of accuracy. Her interactions with professionals and customers also taught her the importance of organization and management, but she quickly realized her love of numbers. Building upon her management and customer service skills, Donna began exploring ways to involve herself in a data driven career. This journey led to coursework in Kennesaw State's Accounting Program. While working to complete her Enrolled agent, she has also been a certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor for twelve years. Enrolled Agent certification gives the firm the ability to negotiate with the IRS for tax concerns.

Bonny :

Bonny is a graduate of Keller Graduate School of Management where she received her master’s degree in Accounting. Bonny is currently preparing for the CPA Exam. Bonny has over 25 years of public accounting/bookkeeping experience where she has managed multi-million-dollar accounts, a non-profit community center, pre-school/daycare and numerous businesses in the construction field. These are just a few of the industries that Bonny has serviced over the years. Bonny is married to Stephen and they have two children, Natalie and Nicolas.

Mollie Crowe

Mollie

Mollie :

Mollie began her career in corporate business 20 years ago. Working at Ivex and Avado Brands, both located in Madison, GA, she was able to gain a fundamental knowledge of the corporate world. At Avado Brands she was the assistant to the executive chef for the popular brands Don Pablo’s and Hops restaurants. In 2002 Mollie got married and began learning to balance work and home life. In 2005 she would put her career on hold to stay at home with her children, while continuing to pursue her love of missions and non-profits. In 2018 Mollie accepted her current position as Executive Accounting Assistant with Accounting By Design, Inc. Mollie and her husband Marcus live in Madison, GA and have been married for 18 years. Outside of the office Mollie enjoys traveling and seeing new places. More frequently you will find her in the stands or on the bleachers supporting her local high school team, her coach husband, and their 3 children.
